STEPS TO END LEPROSY
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to complete 150km?
No, you can choose 50km, 100km or 150km and you can choose to walk, run or cycle the distance.

Do I need to complete the distance in one go?
No, you can complete the distance chosen over as many days as you need to.
If you were to spread the distance over 1 month, 50km averages out at 1.7km per day, 100km at 3.3km per day and 150km at 5km per day.

How can I best keep track of how far I have walked?
There are many apps that can be used with your smartphone. Some examples are Map my Run, Strava or Run Keeper.
If you have a step counter, 1km = 1,250 to 1,550 walking steps or you could work out a route using Googlemaps.

Do I need to prove I completed the distance"?
We encourage you to post pictures and make use of social media and the hashtag #endtoleprosy but we trust that you will complete the challenge to the best of your ability.

How do I sign up?
You can sign up easily by clicking here and setting up a fundraiser account.

How does the money I raise get transferred to The Mission to End Leprosy?
We are set up with Classy.org and Facebook to receive all money fundraised as a secure bank transfer

How should I stay safe?
Do not post pictures that reveal a regular walking/running route that you might take. It is best to post after you return home and to keep locations vague. If possible vary the time and place that you exercise. It is more enjoyable to walk with a friend too! Please adhere to COVID-19 guidelines for your local area.

Please note that The Mission to End Leprosy is not responsible for the safety of any individual choosing to participate in this event.
